Diagnostic Imaging · Cardiology · Internal Medicine
In Rome San Giovanni since 1993. Ultrasound, radiology, internal medicine and surgery for dogs and cats.
Dr. Giovanni De Caroli graduated in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Perugia in 1990. After winning the competitive exam to become an Officer Cadet of the Italian Army Veterinary Corps, in 1992 he chose to decline a permanent military career to dedicate himself to private practice and the care of small animals.
In 1993 he became a partner at Ambulatorio Mura Latine, in the San Giovanni district of Rome, where he still works today. For over thirty years he has been practicing internal medicine, surgery, anesthesia and ultrasound, complementing clinical work with continuous training in cardiology, ultrasound, dermatology, orthopedics, oncology and medical pathology.
Between 2010 and 2020 he completed an Advanced Course in Diagnostic Imaging at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Naples and a Level II Master's degree in Diagnostic Imaging at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Pisa. In 2024 he won admission to the Level II Master's degree in Cardiology, also at Pisa, obtaining the diploma in January 2026.
Across all three practices where he works today the common thread is the same: a specialist competence in diagnostic imaging and cardiology, built day after day over more than three decades.
Two University Level II Master's degrees in specialist areas, complemented by over thirty years of general clinical practice at Ambulatorio Mura Latine.
Abdominal ultrasound, echocardiography and radiology for accurate, targeted diagnoses. Advanced course at the University of Naples, Master's degree (Level II) at the University of Pisa.
Cardiology consultations, echocardiography and management of heart conditions in small animals. Level II Master's degree in Cardiology at the University of Pisa, obtained in 2026.
At Ambulatorio Mura Latine, Dr. De Caroli follows patients as their primary care physician: visits, vaccinations, prophylaxis, soft tissue surgery, anesthesia and emergency medicine.

For vaccination and prophylaxis reminders, Dr. De Caroli's patients receive an illustrated postcard. A small reminder — and a gesture of care, in an era when everything has gone digital.

"Giovanni De Caroli, for his professionalism and sensitivity. He was a great help to us in a particularly difficult moment. Highly recommended. Thanks also from my wife."
"Dr. Giovanni was exemplary with my pinscher Semola. It's not easy to perform an echocardiogram and abdominal ultrasound on an animal, but with his gentleness and professionalism he managed beautifully. And Semola was calm with him throughout. Thank you Dr. Giovanni, see you soon."
"An exemplary doctor, with great professionalism accompanied by genuine kindness toward his patients. He explains everything he finds or wants to do with the utmost precision. He saved me from a situation that I don't know how many other vets had ever managed to solve."
"A skilled, professional doctor, very affectionate with his patients. There's always a calm, relaxed atmosphere in his practice, and my dog isn't afraid and doesn't get anxious like with other vets."
